Raccolta di poesie: Matteo Locatelli
Versione in Italiano
Matteo Locatelli è nato a Lecco il 17/11/1976. E’ laureato in scienze e politiche.
Passo dopo passo
considerando
la possibilità di un paesaggio stupendo
oltre quel valico di montagna.
Sentirsi improvvisamente
vibrare per il desiderio di vederlo.
Tanto che tutto il resto
gli altri desideri
le altre cose,
la fatica
passano in secondo piano.
Sapere
che non esiste
qualcosa di più bello
qualcosa che ci renda più lucenti,
felici,
briosi
che fare tutto ciò
che è nelle nostre possibilità
per raggiungerlo
TORNARE A VEDERE
E GODERSELO.

Collected poems: Matteo Locatelli
The promised land: In search of our own identity
Matteo Locatelli was born in Lecco on the 17th of November 1976. He graduated in Science and Politics. During the course of his career he has travelled in Italy and abroad. He has published several collections of poems, among which features “Raduno le forze e mi metto in cammino”/”I gather forces and I set out” (2005). Accompanied by a musician and a designer, he entertains the theatre-going public with stories and essays. Through his poem “La terra promessa”/”The Promised Land” (from his latest collection “Se le poesie fossero petrolio”/”If Poems were Oil”), Matteo enters into contact with his spirit, a spirit which pushes him to understand the truest sense of himself, tied to his absolute essence. It’s a strong feeling that pushes him to see life as it is, far from noises of confusion, near true nature. Only through instinct can we really understand who we are. If we let ourselves be confused by thoughts we only distance ourselves from this truth. They are important words that he writes, because it’s true, negative emotions don’t lead us anywhere. If we let them go, we can find the true nature of being, in the awareness of understanding real freedom. Feeling a growing urge to admire the amazing panorama on the other side of the mountain, Matteo feels that obstacles can dissolve where one’s intention is strong and the way ahead is levelled. He’s so involved in enjoying the incredible view that he forgets tensions, obstacles, and tiredness. He has chosen the right way to understand who he really is. He looks at himself with introspection understanding that following his instinct, he perceives his real nature, so that he can feel joyful again. Thoughts pull us into their vortex, and don’t let us see the wonders that surround us, tiring the mind and not allowing us to see the truth clearly. We need to walk towards what we love most without thinking, without doubting, as if with our eyes closed. After all we understand that instinct is our guide, our soul knows where we’re going. If the goddess of fortune is blind, we can understand the reason why she doesn’t see. She walks towards fortune without doubts. We are the creators of our destiny and we often forget it.

The promised land
Aproaching reality slowly.
Step by step
Letting go the conditions that impede our vision.
Life, things, people
As they are
Eliminating from our body the torpor that stops us from feeling it fully.
To listen to its tension
To dissolve it
and becoming proud of ourselves
not depressed
Getting rid of unpleasant emotions that are inside
But that are not good for our health.
Do not be closed in the circle of our thoughts
Do not let yourself be seduced by them.
Step by step
Considering the chance
Of an amazing view
On the other side of the mountain.
Suddenly feeling yourself shake with desire to see it.
So much that all the rest
The other wishes
Other things, tiredness
Are left in the background
Knowing that this is the most beautiful thing
Something that makes us shining, happy and lively
Doing all that we can to reach it.
COMING TO SEE AGAIN
AND ENJOYING IT.
