New York, NY (26 settembre, 2013) – Ieri sera Susan e David Rockefeller e la Manifattura di lusso svizzera Girard-Perregaux si sono uniti al cantante e produttore musicale Nile Rodgers per l’evento “Changing Watch” a sostegno della Fondazione We Are Family.
La serata ha avuto inizio con un cocktail al Cipriani 42nd St., dove era stata esposta una selezione di orologi Girard-Perregaux. A ricevere maggiore attenzione, il nuovo rivoluzionario Scappamento Costante. Industrie di grande rilievo del mondo dell’orologeria, della moda, musica, sport e filantropia si sono ritrovate sotto gli alti soffitti a volta ed i meravigliosi candelabri del celebre locale newyorkese. Tra gli ospiti della serata, l’attivista Amanda Hearst, star del reality Housewives of NY, Kelly Bensimon, star del reality “Million Dollar Listing NY”, la star Ryan Serhant, la modella ed attivitsta Amudena Fernandez e l’attrice italiana Jo Champa ed altri
Con spirito allegro gli invitati hanno partecipato ad una cena nella Sala da Ballo del Cipriani, mentre Susan e David Rockefeller introducevano la loro nuova iniziativa Protect What is Precious, spiegando in dettaglio gli obiettivi filantropici del progetto. Hanno poi proiettato il loro ultimo video, “Take Time”, che descrive le bellezze del mondo e spiega come proteggerne le fragilità. Dal palco, Michele Sofisti, CEO di Sowind (Girard-Perregaux e JEANRICHARD) ha offerto a Susan, David e Nile Rodgers l’orologio in edizione speciale Mission of Mermaids (MoM) a tributo del loro impegno costante a sostenere la Fondazione We Are Family.
“Susan, David e Nile sono come angeli custodi”, ha affermato Michele Sofisti. “Incoraggiano gli altri a percorrere la strada corretta in modo da rendere il Pianeta Terra un luogo speciale”.
“Changing Watch si è rivelata una serata speciale grazie al potere della musica, dell’orologeria e delle nuove generazioni di giovani, tutti uniti a sostenere la grande causa della Fondazione We Are Family”, commenta Susan Rockefeller. “Speriamo vivamente che questo incoraggi altri ad associarsi a questa battaglia per riuscire a fare la differenza”.

A seguire, il giovane leader teenager Dylan Vecchione dei ReefQuest ha presentato un video del proprio lavoro, presentando altri leader teenager di tutto il mondo che si fanno paladini della salvaguardia del pianeta.
La serata è poi proseguita con un’asta di beneficenza, amichevolmente competitiva, di un orologio da uomo MoM “Mission of Mermaids” in edizione speciale disegnato in collaborazione con Susan Rockefeller e “Pamper Yourself”; un’esperienza offerta da Girard-Perregaux, ossia la permanenza di una settimana per otto persone all’Amanyara Resort sulle Isole Turks & Caicos, una collana di perle Honora su design esclusivo di Susan Rockefeller ed una cena al Blue Hill con Susan, David e Nile, insieme ad un tour di Stone Barns, una lezione privata di un’ora con Nile Rodgers nel suo studio, e la nuova chitarra in edizione speciale della Fender “Hitmaker” di Nile Rodgers.
Prima dell’inizio dell’asta di beneficienza, Nile Rodgers ha parlato ai presenti della musica e della creatività, a seguire poi una performance DJ di Q-Tip del gruppo A Tribe Called Quest, a celebrare l’iconica carriera di Nile e l’era della musica disco. I presenti hanno poi ballato tutta la sera tra le colonne di marmo da 20 metri dell’elegante sala da ballo. Q-Tip è stato poi raggiunto da Gary Bencheghib, un teenager leader di Bali, impegnato ad aumentare la consapevolezza sulla salute degli oceani mentre fa il DJ.

New York City, NY (September 26, 2013) – Last night Susan and David Rockefeller and Swiss luxury watchmaker Girard-Perregaux joined forces with Nile Rodgers for the “Changing Watch” event supporting We Are Family Foundation.
The evening began with a cocktail hour at Cipriani 42nd St. displaying select Girard-Perregaux timepieces. Of particular distinction being the revolutionary new Constant Escapement. Industry powerhouses from the worlds of watchmaking, fashion, music, sport, and philanthropy mingled together under Renaissance inspired high vaulted ceilings and gorgeous chandeliers. Guests attending included socialite and activist Amanda Hearst, star of The Real Housewives of NY Kelly Bensimon, Million Dollar Listing NY star Ryan Serhant, model & activist Almudena Fernandez, Italian actress Jo Champa and more.
A jovial spirit pervaded the attendees as they took their seats to dinner in the Cipriani Ballroom while Susan and David Rockefeller introduced their new Protect What is Precious initiative and spoke of their philanthropic goals. They featured their new video “Take Time”, which speaks to seeing the world’s beauty and protecting its fragility. Michele Sofisti, CEO of Sowind (Girard-Perregaux and JEANRICHARD) also took to the stage, where he presented Susan and David and Nile Rodgers with a special Mission of Mermaids (MoM) timepiece in honor of their constant work and dedication to support We Are Family Foundation.
“Susan, David and Nile are like guardian angels”, said Michele. “Encouraging others to follow in the right steps to make Planet Earth a special place”.
“Changing Watch was a special evening with the powers of music, watchmaking and a new generation uniting to support the great cause of We Are Family Foundation”, said Susan Rockefeller. “Hopefully this will encourage other to join the fight and make a difference”.

Ensuing the presentation, young teen leader Dylan Vecchione of ReefQuest presented a video of his work and recognized other young teen leaders from around the globe in attendance who are taking a stand to protect their world.
The accompanying charity auction was amiably competitive with auction items consisting of one MoM men’s special edition watch designed in collaboration with Susan Rockefeller and “Pamper Yourself” experience courtesy of Girard-Perregaux, a week-long stay for eight at the Amanyara Resort on the Turks & Caicos Islands, a one-of-a-kind Susan Rockefeller for Honora pearl necklace and a dinner at Blue Hill with Susan, David, and Nile, along with a tour of Stone Barns; a private hour long guitar lesson with Nile Rodgers in his studio, and Fender’s new special edition Nile Rodgers’ “Hitmaker” guitar.
Before the charity auction Nile Rodgers gave a special conversational performance on music and creativity that segued into a DJ set by Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, celebrating Nile’s iconic career and the disco era. Attendees danced the night away under the lofty 65-foot marble columns of the impeccable Ballroom. Q-tip was also joined by Gary Bencheghib, a teen leader based in Bali, who raises awareness about ocean health through DJing.
